Your licence to ask “Why?”
This is a 5-year apprenticeship programme based in Bristol or Edinburgh. You’ll start by working towards the Level 4 Internal Audit Practitioner qualification. Once completed, you’ll have the opportunity to progress to higher-level professional study, building your expertise and working towards becoming a Chartered Auditor.
In your first 18–24 months, you’ll work towards your Level 4 Internal Audit Practitioner qualification, supported through a mix of structured learning and workshops covering areas such as:
- Corporate Governance and Risk Management
- Internal Audit Planning
- Interpersonal Skills

Audit isn’t about sitting on the side lines. We don’t give you a clipboard. Instead, within three months you’ll be working on live audits - observing, contributing, and taking on cases of your own.
As you progress, you’ll spend time in areas like:
- Business Banking
- Insurance
- Technology
Plus, a 6‑month placement outside Audit, an opportunity to work alongside teams like Finance, Tech, Risk, and Customer Services - giving you a 360° view of how we get things done. These will be defined during your programme.
