Brief Description
Enchanted Lands Day Nursery is seeking an early years apprentice to work in our Kingsbury location. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals wanting to gain experience to begin a career in early years, supporting children with their development through play and learning. Great shift patterns and holiday plans, salary range from £7.55 to £9.00 per hour dependant on age and experience. Come and progress in this award winning nursery!
Qualifications Required
Has Maths and English GCSE'S to a pass level - preferable but not essential
Personal Qualities
Holds a passion for education and educating our children.
· Believes in shaping a future for not only the children but themselves.
· Is articulate & friendly.
Skills Required
· Able to commit to the full apprenticeship programme.
· Holds a passion for learning about Childcare and reliable to boot.
Training to be Provided
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.

As an early years apprentice you will be supported at every step, learning from our experienced nursery educators and gaining experience of all aspects of early years care.
This is a fabulous opportunity to ‘earn whilst you learn’, gain a valid qualification and experience working alongside our qualified team in our enchanting nursery environment.
You’ll be trained to carry out the same post as a level 3 practitioner, providing safe, high quality education and care that meets the individual needs of the children attending our setting with the support of your assessor, mentor, manager and team.
Nursery Apprentice Role
· To undertake a developmental programme leading to an Early Years Qualification as part of an apprenticeship which is achieved within the given timescale.
· To actively participate in your own development plan working through the qualification with the qualification provider and with the nursery setting too.
· To undertake induction training in the nursery with a named mentor
· To keep your mentor informed of your progress and to raise any concerns or issues with them.
· To support the nursery staff to observe, plan and maintain accurate children’s records.
· To develop a sound understanding of Safeguarding Policies
· Undertake a shared responsibility for the care of children, health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery.
ELDN is open from 8am to 5pm only so the team will never have to work early shifts or late evenings. We also close for the 2 weeks in August so the team will have an enjoyable summer holiday and 1 weeks over the Christmas and new Year. We offer 4 training day across the year, fully paid so staff don’t have to use their Saturdays for training.
