Brief Description
- Claire and her team at East Leaze farm are looking for 2 apprentices to join the team, this is a large fast paced yard with upto 60 horses in at anytime.
- East Leaze is a backing and pre train yard for flat and jump racehorses, they also offer rehabilitation for injured thoroughbreds.
Training to be Provided
- All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach
Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship, including Functional Skills in English and maths if required
Future Prospects
- Progression to the Level 3 senior groom and or the possibility of full time employment
Vacancy Detail
All general yard duties :
- Mucking out
- Turning in and out and horse walker
- Filling haynets/ water buckets
- Making feeds
- Grooming / picking out feet
- Tacking up
- Helping with groundwork for youngsters
- Riding available for right candidate
Other Information
No accommodation is available with this position, buses and trains go to Swindon but not to yard, please make sure you can get to the yard daily for a 7.30am start before applying
No livery for own horse.
Hours flexible to be discussed with employer, will be over 5 days to include some weekend work.
- Although this would be a Non- Ridden Apprenticeship there is riding available for the right candidate.
