Brief Description
We are currently looking to recruit apprentices to join our wonderful team at Belmont Day Nursery, all of our staff demonstrate a real desire to work with and care for young children.
We encourage and develop our staff through on going training, this includes advanced childcare qualifications, curriculum planning, first aid, food hygiene.
Qualifications Required
Understanding good quality childcare
Enthusiastic and a willingness to learn and develop
Personal Qualities
Respect individuals wishes and principles
Show willingness to work towards further childcare qualifications
Recognise the differing needs of individual children and be prepared to work alongside other staff in preparing their learning goals

An ability to provide safe, creative play
An ability to work as part of a team

Training to be Provided
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Functional skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.

Potential to progress Full-time position in the nursery after level 2 or progress to a level 3

Belmont Day Nursery is well established and well equipped with a safe environment for children to learn, play and thrive.
Working in the Playgroup will provide good opportunities to work alongside experienced staff with a wide range of children some of whom may have additional needs
• Ensuring all aspects of the playgroup routine comply with the rules for safety and cleanliness
• Assisting and providing safe, creative and appropriate ways
• Assisting with the provision of full care for the children including preparing refreshments
• Helping to set up the playroom and outdoor are and tidy away at the end of each session
• Attending training courses for example. First Aid, safeguarding
• Adhering to all policies within the setting
• Keeping confidential and information regarding the children their families or other staff
• Attending staff meetings is required
• Carrying out responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities’ framework
• Assessing, monitoring and recording the progress of the individual children's development including maintaining children's dairies
Other Information
Must have a enhanced DBS certificate
Our Playgroup will provide an induction with clear definition of the work involved i.e., procedures: safeguarding, health and safety
