Brief Description
This is a rare opportunity to become part of the Derbyshire Constabulary "family" based at their Force Headquarters in Ripley. The purpose of these roles is to provide a customer-focused, effective and efficient administrative support to the regional forces.
Training to be Provided
An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry-specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Business Administrator Level 3, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.
Future Prospects
You will attain the Business Administrator occupational standard and Level 2 Functional Skills in maths & English (where applicable) upon successful completion of your apprenticeship.

Role Purpose
- Ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time through effective planning and the use of specialist software.
- Research, collate and compile course and skills information with high accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline working practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing staffing levels for the area and identifying/resolving any staffing issues.
- Amending and creating shift patterns to meet operational and business needs.
- Contributing to an accessible and effective deployment workforce.
Other Information
Whilst not essential, prior work experience in any type of role is preferred but not essential.
This apprenticeship will not start until 3rd August 2026.
Once you have received a provisional offer of an apprenticeship, you will be required to undergo a full DBS background check before a formal offer can be made.
