Brief Description

An Aerospace fitting apprentice will join our manufacturing team to support the manufacture of composite radomes for a range of fast jet and helicopter platforms. This role will offer the candidate an opportunity to get hands on with composite radomes, and gain the knowledge required to be an experienced aerospace fitter.

Training to be Provided

Alongside your day role, you will work to complete your apprenticeship with your external training provider, Weston College. You will be given 20% off the job hours, this will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively. 

Future Prospects

Upon successful completion of the programme — and subject to performance — you may have the opportunity to move into a permanent role within the team or business area where you completed your apprenticeship.

Vacancy Detail

1. Health and safety of self and others at all times.
2. Surface preparation of composite radomes.
3. Measuring and marking out requirements to meet manufacturing drawing and internal documentation requirements.
4. Fitting of metallic components to composite radomes through a range of methods such as bonding, riveting and fastening.
5. Completion of manufacturing paperwork to document activities as part of key audit paperwork trail.
6. Identifying process improvement opportunities to enable time and cost savings in the production method, as well as improve product quality.

Other Information

Be at least 18 years old when the apprenticeship begins due to Health and Safety.  
Hold a UK driving licence.
Have the right to work in the UK.
Have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least the past three years prior to starting the apprenticeship.
Have completed full-time education before the apprenticeship is due to start.
For this programme, you must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance
