Brief Description

In this role, you’ll join Parker Meggitt’s Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams, gaining hands-on experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and Design. You’ll receive comprehensive training to develop the skills needed to succeed as an engineer in a cutting-edge organisation.

Training to be Provided

Alongside your day role, you will work to complete your apprenticeship with your external training provider, Newbury College. You will be given 20% off the job hours, this will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively.

Future Prospects

Upon successful completion of the programme — and subject to performance — you may have the opportunity to move into a permanent role within the team or business area where you completed your apprenticeship.

  • Gain a degree in an engineering discipline.

  • Train and gain experience in the fundamentals of engineering on the shop floor.

  • Train and gain experience on all the principal manufacturing processes within the organisation.

  • Train and gain experience of all the key functions within the organisation with particular emphasis on Health and Safety, Quality, Test and Calibration and Design.

  • Specialise in the Manufacturing Engineering discipline. With an emphasis on data collection & analysis and problem solving.

  • Be at least 18 years old when the apprenticeship begins.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least the past three years prior to starting the apprenticeship.

  • Have completed full-time education before the apprenticeship is due to start. For this programme, you must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance.
