Brief Description
During this apprenticeship you will report to the Jackson's Newcastle Office. This opportunity will provide excellent training in mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic engineering relating to the service, repair, modernisation and installation of a wide range of lift-associated equipment. This is a fantastic opportunity.
Training to be Provided
Full training and support will be given via work-based learning. The successful applicant will be expected to achieve the following:
- Level 3 NVQ in Engineering Maintenance - Lift or Escalator Service and Repair
- Lift and Escalator Industry Association distance learning units
- 6 X BTEC distance learning units
Future Prospects
The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to continue their development and become a member of a team of technicians. This will enable them to provide a range of support activities to engineers and other members of staff.
Vacancy Detail
Duties will include:
- Working alongside experienced lift engineers
- Application of the use of tools
- Risk assessing safety critical environments
- Carrying out the servicing of lift equipment
- Investigating lift breakdowns
- Replacing worn/damaged equipment
- Modernising existing lift equipment
Other Information
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and any training that is part of their apprenticeship (usually one day a week).
