Brief Description
During this apprenticeship you will report to the Jackson's Bristol Office. This opportunity will provide excellent training in mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic engineering relating to the service, repair, modernisation and installation of a wide range of escalator-associated equipment. This is a fantastic opportunity.
Training to be Provided
Full training and support will be given via work-based learning. The successful applicant will be expected to achieve the following:
- Level 3 NVQ in Engineering Maintenance - Lift or Escalator Service and Repair
- Lift and Escalator Industry Association distance learning units
- 6 X BTEC distance learning units
Future Prospects
The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to continue their development and become a member of a team of technicians. This will enable them to provide a range of support activities to engineers and other members of staff.
Vacancy Detail
Duties will include:
- Working alongside experienced escalator engineers
- Application of the use of tools
- Risk assessing safety-critical environments
- Carrying out the servicing of escalator equipment
- Investigating escalator breakdowns
- Replacing worn/damaged equipment
- Modernising existing escalator equipment
Other Information
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day a week).
