Training to be Provided
- Marine Electrician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
- City and Guilds 2473 Level 2 and 3 in Marine Electrics
Future Prospects
Berthon retains the overwhelming majority of its apprentice graduates. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the offer of a permanent skilled contract at skilled Level 1 with a current salary of £44400. Progression through 6 skilled levels and further training opportunities.
Vacancy Detail
A Berthon marine electrician apprentice will learn how to install and maintain all the electrical and electronic systems onboard private luxury sail/ motor yachts and small commercial vessels, including Royal Navy vessels. You will learn how to install cable trays and trunking, engine management systems, batteries and battery monitoring systems, Navigation systems, Radar, GPS, autopilot, mast electrics, commercial and defence electronic systems, shore power and domestic systems including lighting.
You will work on both AC and DC systems and learn how to diagnose and rectify faults on both marine electrical and marine electronics systems.

Other Information
Travel between employer and college must be arranged by apprentice. As part of the application process, you will be required to apply direct to the Bournemouth & Poole College to book and attend an academic interview. For course details:
