Brief Description

Busy riding school & livery yard looking for an apprentice that wants to work up the levels as an equine groom and eventually on to becoming a horse riding instructor.

Training to be Provided

Equine Groom Apprentice Level 2.


Merrist Wood College or within the workplace.


Day release - Once a week.


Functional Skills - if required, Level 2 maths and English.


Dedicated Performance Coach.

Future Prospects

Full-time post as a horse riding instructor and groom.

Vacancy Detail


  • Turning out, bringing in, mucking out liveries

  • Grooming & tacking up horses for lessons

  • Meet and greet riding school customers, help them mount and dismount.

  • Assist in lessons as a junior instructor, leading ponies in lead rein classes.

  • Assisting and leading in RDA sessions

  • Schooling and hacking school horses and possibly liveries, depending on riding level, escorting hacks.

 A DBS check will need to be completed before you become fully employed by us.


Located 5-minute drive from Oxted train station.


The role is incredibly active and all of our fields are on a hill so good physical health is a must. There is also some heavy lifting of hay & straw bales and water buckets.
