- Supporting reactive maintenance works such as attending reported defects, minor repairs, and emergency call-outs under supervision
- Assisting with planned maintenance programmes, including regular inspections, preventative works, and scheduled repairs

- Supporting painting and decorating works, including surface preparation, patch repairs, and finishing of communal areas
- Assisting with basic electrical-related tasks where appropriate, such as changing light fittings, replacing bulbs, and safe isolation procedures (non-qualified work only)
- Learning to safely select, use, and maintain hand tools and basic power tools in line with company procedures
- Following health and safety requirements at all times, including use of PPE, manual handling techniques, COSHH awareness, and site risk assessments
- Assisting in identifying maintenance issues during site visits and reporting findings accurately to supervisors or the property inspector
- Supporting the completion of job sheets, maintenance logs, photographs, and digital reporting systems
- Assisting with stock control, materials handling, and keeping maintenance vehicles and storage areas organised
- Developing customer service skills when working in occupied properties, including professional communication with residents and site staff
- Working as part of a team to meet service levels, response times, and quality standards expected by the block management company
