Brief Description
You will be assessing and measuring the environmental strategy across Network Rail’s Southern Region's renewals portfolio, as part of the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE). Also involve the monitoring of the ecology, carbon, biodiversity, waste and noise within the Building & Civil portfolio of the Southern Renewals Enterprise.

Vacancy Detail
- To actively engage in the inspection and establishment of environmental protection measures
- To ensure that information, training and instruction and task-specific advice on environmental management meets the needs of employees and those working on our behalf
- Support the reporting of environmental related performance information, including but not restricted to audits, non-conformances, incidents
- Monitoring and supporting responses to close calls
- Support the Social Value team where possible and appropriate in volunteering and/or reporting environmental positive outcomes
- All VF environmental planning meetings, inspections and audits are completed within specified timescales
- All non-conformances are closed out within specified timescales
- Facilitate management reporting requirements on environmental compliance
- Fulfil the requirements of VolkerFitzpatrick environmental-related objectives
- The investigation of environmental incidents in accordance with VW UK requirements
- Being knowledgeable of environmental legislation learning through their apprenticeship and on the job
Other Information
- A proven interest in the Environment and Environmental studies
- An understanding of environmental legislation and construction industry
- A self-starter able to work as part of a team and work independently where required
- Passionate advocate for the Environment
We will not be able to accept applications from candidates holding a relevant degree. This is because the person would not qualify for the apprenticeship funding.
