Brief Description

Wendy House Day Nursery are looking for a new Nursery Assistant Apprentice. You will be studying for your Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship L2 or 3

Vacancy Detail

You'll be working in a lively and nurturing early years setting where no two days look the same. 


As a Level 2 Early Years Apprentice, you’ll become a valued member of a dedicated childcare team, helping to create an environment where young children feel safe, curious, and excited to learn.


You’ll be actively involved in the running of the nursery day, supporting play activities, helping with routines, and building secure relationships with children. From messy play to storytelling to outdoor adventures, you’ll be right at the heart of their early learning experiences.


By the end of the apprenticeship, the learner will have grown into a confident early years professional with experience across all core areas of childcare.


Child Development & Learning



  • Understanding developmental milestones from birth to 5

  • Observing play and supporting children’s next steps

  • Learning how to plan age-appropriate, stimulating activities

  • Support with delivering engaging, age-appropriate play and learning activities

  • Assist in daily routines, including snack preparation, toileting, nappy changing, sleep times, and supporting safe transitions throughout the day

  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment

  • Observe children during play and contribute to basic notes or recording

  • Build positive, nurturing relationships with children

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues

  • Communicate politely and professionally with families, supporting the wider team with creating a welcoming and inclusive setting
