Brief Description
Securcom is a family run business, and we have been providing Electrical Installations within the agricultural industry for the last 36 years. We also Install Solar PV and CCTV.
We are looking for an Apprentice engineer to work alongside one of the company’s Senior Engineers in a development role here at Securcom.
Training to be Provided
Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Hereford (HR4 9SX)
Level 3 comprises of:
Duration approximately 40-45 months:
- Year 1 includes 26 - 42 weeks off the job training to cover practical and theory aspects
- Year 2 would include 1 day per week to complete EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge
- Years 2, 3 & 4 will be based in company developing skills in preparation for the end point assessment to gain your Engineering Fitter Level 3 qualification
You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment.
Additional training for functional skills in English and maths will be undertaken if needed.

Assisting Senior Electricians to:
- Installing conduits
- Installing new wiring
- Replacing old or damaged wiring
- Installing systems like lighting, fire alarms, and security systems
- Mounting panel boards, switches, and other equipment
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed
- Assisting in larger projects like installing panels and generators
- Reading blueprints
- Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures
- Using basic electrical tools and operating power tools and equipment
