Brief Description

We produce the entire Ductile Iron range including Simo, Ni-resist, Compacted Graphite (CGI) and ADI materials along with several grades of stainless steel.

Holding ISO 9001-2015 and DNV approvals we offer customers a project management service where we deliver a fully machined casting for both prototype and production projects.

Training to be Provided

One day per week training at College at City of Wolverhampton College (Wellington Road).

Vacancy Detail


  • To assist in efforts to develop and maintain continuous improvements to meet customer requirements whilst learning knowledge of processes and procedures.

  • Assist and learn from sand lab technicians and managers.

  • To document all results in a timely fashion to meet the business needs.

  • Assist and document all parameters on the sand mill in real time.

  • Report any deviations within the process.

  • Learn all aspects of the processes involved at Vanguard Foundry for making sand moulds.

  • Learn and develop knowledge of the core making process.

  • Check and report on daily audit sheets non-conformance of core products.

  • Understand the variables associated with core making and their consequences.

  • Learn and understand the melting and casting process.

  • Actively get involved with metal testing and metal melting.

  • Convey all results to supervisors and managers.

  • Obtain knowledge of health and safety according to HASAWA 1974.

  • Promote a safe working environment within the departments.

  • Report on any unsafe working practices.

  • Undertake further training to suit the business needs if asked.
