Vacancy Detail
The Apprentice Laboratory Technician will support the engineering laboratories teams with carrying out routine operational, maintenance, and manufacturing tasks while completing a Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship in the first year of the three-year apprenticeship programme. On your 2nd and 3rd year you will be able to complete your Level 3.
As an Apprentice Laboratory Technician, you will:
- Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of engineering tools, machinery and equipment
- Comply with statutory regulations and organisation health and safety requirements including any environmental compliance procedures and systems to maintain a safe working environment.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Be trained to operate a variety of engineering machinery and equipment - use hand tools and basic workshop equipment safely and correctly
- Carry out routine checks, inspections, and simple fault-finding under supervision
- Prepare materials and equipment for engineering processes, providing technical support including communications software.
- Develop knowledge of industry standards and certification requirements
