Brief Description
The successful candidate will undertake training and practical experience in bookkeeping, tax, and accounts preparation while studying towards AAT Level 2 and 3 under a day-release apprenticeship agreement.
Training to be Provided
The successful applicant will work towards the Accounts/Finance level 2 Apprenticeship Standard.
Will attend Access Training on Team Valley, Gateshead for day release – one day per week.
Future Prospects
Ongoing training and development will be provided and the opportunity for duties to progress. Excellent long term career prospects – and possible progression through the AAT levels for the right candidate.
Vacancy Detail
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including posting transactions and reconciliations
- Support preparation of VAT returns under supervision
- Learn to prepare working papers and schedules for year-end accounts
- Assist with corporation tax, self-assessment, and partnership tax returns under supervision
- Develop skills in Xero, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
- Attend training and complete apprenticeship requirements
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and provide support where needed
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors
- Answer the phone and deal with queries or transfer calls appropriately
- Welcome visitors and answer the door in a professional manner
- Take shared responsibility for keeping communal spaces tidy and presentable
- Provide cover for colleagues during absence, which may include undertaking duties outside your usual remit
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested
