Working Week: At company you will be scheduled to work between 7.00am and 6.00pm (shifts to be agreed) Monday to Friday.
Brief Description
This position is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to the multidisciplinary field of mechanical mechatronics, enabling the apprentice to contribute to complex projects and build a strong foundation for a successful engineering career.
Training to be Provided
Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with your employer and Make UK, which are fully paid for, including:
- Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Practical Foundation Training - in year 1, in 6 week blocks to include 4 weeks at Make UK and 2 weeks in company
- Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Workplace
- Competence Training - in years 2 to 4 in company
- Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge - in Years 1, 2 & 3 on block release to Make UK
- In house training in line with your requirements
- Further qualifications deemed necessary by your employer
On completion of your studies, you will achieve your full apprenticeship certification that will prove competence as a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Engineering Technician.

The Apprentice Engineer will be responsible for developing skills in the maintenance, and optimisation of mechanical systems.
Through hands-on training and mentorship, the apprentice will learn to support the:
- Development
- Installation
- Maintenance of automated systems, robotics, and/or machinery while ensuring operational efficiency and safety
The Apprentice Engineer will be expected to work towards and complete the apprenticeship program with a focus on self-development, progression, and ownership.
At the end of the program, they should aim to be a competent maintenance engineer and be able to work well as a key part of a shift team or alone on a multitude of equipment with minimal extra support.
