Brief Description

We are offering a hands-on Apprentice Engineer role. The successful candidate will learn from experienced engineers working on real-world installations, developing practical skills across communications, cabling, and IT systems.

Training to be Provided

Year 1: 1 day a week at Peterborough College.


Year 2: 1 day a week at Peterborough College.


Year 3: 1 day a week at Peterborough College.


Year 4: Fully work-based.

Clear progression pathway to Installation Engineer or Project Engineer role on successful completion.

Vacancy Detail


  • Assist engineers with the installation of cabling and equipment (coaxial, Cat6, and fibre optic).

  • Support the setup, testing, and documentation of new systems.

  • Help maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good condition.

  • Participate in site surveys and risk assessments under supervision.

  • Learn to interpret technical drawings and follow work instructions.

  • Adhere to company health & safety standards and site procedures.

  • Attend off-site training courses where required.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of records for installations, issues, and remedial actions. 

Other Information


  • Full UK driving licence (clean preferred).

  • Physically capable of completing a Rigging course, including working at height on towers (full training and certification will be provided).

  • Work authorisation: Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.

  • Must hold a British passport and have 5 years' continuous UK residency to meet UK security clearance.

  • This is a predominantly field-based role. The nature of our work means the successful candidate should expect:

  • Regular travel to customer sites across the UK.

  • Occasional overnight stays and extended periods working away from home.

  • Irregular hours and weekends working on project-driven schedules.

  • Physical work including working at height, in confined spaces, and carrying equipment.

  • There will be overseas travel and so a passport will be required.

  • Note: Some administrative and desk-based tasks may be completed from Home. This is not a remote role. Site attendance and travel are core requirements of the position.
