Working Week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 am till 5 pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch break and Saturday is 9 am till 4 pm.
Brief Description
This is an exciting opportunity to represent Ironbridge Fine Arts, a specialist printmaking studio, gallery, framing workshop, and manufacturing business based in Ironbridge. They design and produce high-quality gunning etching presses and printmaking equipment, used by artists, studios, and universities worldwide.
Training to be Provided
- Level 2 Customer Service
- This will also include functional skills if required
- End-point assessment
- Certificate of completion of the standard
You may have to attend formal college sessions (if English & maths are required), but not necessary for 19+.
You will learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours related to the apprenticeship standard.
Training will take place within the workplace, supported by the assessor through regular visits and reviews. An online portfolio is also used where tasks are set and progress is monitored.
Future Prospects
There may be opportunities after completion of a successful apprenticeship.
Vacancy Detail
- Assisting customers in person, by phone, and via email across both the framing and printmaking departments
- Supporting the preparation, packing, and dispatch of artwork, printmaking materials, and equipment
- Helping with frame assembly, exhibition setup, and general care and organisation of artwork
- Assisting with printmaking studio tasks, including potting inks, preparing materials, and supporting print runs
- Monitoring stock levels and helping to maintain an organised and efficient workspace
- Assisting with updating products and information on the website, packing and preparing equipment, and preparing orders for delivery
- With training, supporting press demonstrations and customer guidance in the studio
Other Information
- The location has limited public transport options, so applicants should consider how they will travel to and from work
- The apprentice will be on their feet for much of the day and moving between different areas of the business
- The role is based in a working studio and workshop environment, which can be cold in the winter months, so warm clothing is essential
