Brief Description
An Autocare Technician requires a unique combination of technical, retail and customer service skills. They will use a range of tools, measuring and diagnostic equipment to identify and repair simple system faults.
Training to be Provided
- Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship Standard
- Level 1 Functional Skills in maths and English (unless exempt)
- An Autocare Technician carries out a range of services and repairs to cars, car-derived vans and light goods vehicles
Future Prospects
- On completion of the level 2 apprenticeship, the suitable candidate would then be considered for progression onto the level 3 advanced apprenticeship
- There will also be an opportunity in the future to complete specialist courses, such as hybrid and electrical vehicle training
Vacancy Detail
- Completing general vehicle servicing
- Maintenance tasks, including, in time, more complex tasks such as head gaskets
- Cambelt renewal
- MOT repairs
- This role will involve the successful candidate attending Skills Group one day per week for the duration of the apprenticeship
Other Information
A candidate with a driving licence would be desirable however, this is not essential.
