Brief Description
Buildakit are looking for a motivated and talented Apprentice Design & Build Technician (level 4) to join their technical team. You will learn how to turn architectural concepts into buildable, precise manufacturing drawings for timber frame panels, floor joists, and roof trusses. The course combines core industry knowledge with practical and digital skills essential for modern construction projects. As a Construction Design and Build Technician you will be supporting the Design Office Manager in the day to day tasks of running a design office. This is a heavily focused on CAD based role.
Training to be Provided
Apprenticeship Standard for Design and Build Technician Level 4 with Learning Skills Partnership. Online tutor led sessions with blended learning, once a week during term time.

Vacancy Detail
What you will do:
- CAD Design & Modelling: Produce accurate 2D/3D CAD drawings for timber frame projects, including wall panels, floor joists, and roof trusses.
- Manufacturing Prep: Generate detailed construction information, material quantity take-offs, and CNC (computer numerical control) files.
- Technical Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with building regulations, safety standards, and are fit for purpose.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and our factory production team to resolve technical queries.
Other Information
Wage £16,640 to £26,436.80, depending on your age. Apprenticeship or National Minimum Wage.
