Brief Description
We are looking for a hard-working person to join our team as an Apprentice Estimator/Quantity Surveyor at Bateman Groundworks. We are looking to train and develop an apprentice who will progress through the company.
Training to be Provided
Civil Engineering Technicians provide support to engineers and other construction professionals in the design, delivery and maintenance of the built environment and infrastructure schemes.
They need to be highly skilled, versatile, motivated and able to work confidently across a range of technical roles. This course provides a range of experiences, including theory and practical sessions, supported by visits to local construction sites and talks from industry professionals.
Course content includes:
- Year 1: construction principles and technology, health and safety, surveying in construction
- Year 2: construction design, construction in civil engineering, further maths, site engineering
- Year 3: highway construction, management of a construction project
You will complete the Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard:
- This apprenticeship will involve college attendance and off-the-job training
- You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours
- You need to have an employer to support your apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role
- The typical length of this apprenticeship is 36 months
Future Prospects
- You will be regularly assessed during your apprenticeship, and at the end, you will be integrated into our Estimating or Quantity Surveying Department
