Brief Description
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in electrical engineering and estimation, providing hands-on experience and professional growth whilst gaining your Level 3 qualification.
Training to be Provided
Engineering technician Level 3 (A level) Apprenticeship Standard:
- All apprentices will be required to achieve a minimum Level 2 Foundation competence qualification (Practical units, broad-based skills)
- Level 3 Development Competence qualification (Practical work-based units)
- Level 3 Development technical knowledge qualification (Theory-based units broad-based knowledge)
- Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this prior to taking EPA
End Point Assessment:
- Portfolio-Based Occupational Competence Interview (Viva)
- A nominated professional Institution (PEI) undertakes the independent assessment to determine if the apprentice has met the EngTech requirements as defined by the UK-SPEC

Your responsibilities will include:
Design Support:
- Assist in developing detailed electrical designs based on project specifications
- Help create technical drawings and schematics using software like AutoCAD or Harnware
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure designs meet client requirements and industry standards
Estimation Support:
- Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, including materials, labour, and equipment
- Analyse project specifications and technical drawings to determine project scope and requirements
- Help conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed designs
Project Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure project alignment
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on design and cost estimation
Learning and Development:
- Engage in continuous learning to understand electrical engineering principles, design techniques, and estimation methods
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical and professional skills
