Brief Description

Our Apprentice Workshop Mechanics support the build, test and repair of engines and products, following build standards and safety procedures.

Training to be Provided

Qualifications included:




  • Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard. Company Training Plan & Assessment




  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge (1 day per week for 2 years at college)
    Development Competence Qualification (workplace)




  • Level 2 Functional Skills - Maths (If required)




  • Level 2 Functional Skills - English (If required)



  • End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship

Future Prospects

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, an Apprentice Workshop Mechanic may progress into a Workshop Mechanic / Production Technician role, working independently across Marine, Industrial or Outdoor products.


With experience, further progression could include Senior Mechanic, Specialist Technician or supervisory roles. Opportunities may also exist to develop into Training/Mentoring, Quality, R&D or Workshop Management, supported by continued technical training & professional development.

  • The Apprentice Workshop Mechanic will support the build, repair and testing of products across the Marine, Industrial and Outdoor sectors, including engines and associated equipment

  • Day‑to‑day duties include assembling engines and components to build standards, testing products, recording work times, maintaining tools and work areas, supporting documentation updates, complying with health and safety requirements, and completing off‑the‑job apprenticeship training within the production team
