Training to be Provided


  • Work towards the Engineering Design Technician Apprenticeship Standard with one day a week at Milton Keynes College

As an Engineering Design Technician Apprentice at Merkur Casino UK, you’ll turn ideas into real world designs.


You’ll support live construction and refurbishment projects, learning how venues are planned, designed and built using industry standard CAD software.


What is the role about?


You’ll be part of the Construction & CAD Design team, supporting the design process from the very beginning through to final fit out. This includes helping with site surveys, understanding how electrical and mechanical systems work in real buildings, and improving designs for new and existing venues.


What you’ll be doing: 



  • Creating CAD drawings from early design concepts through to construction

  • Producing planning drawings such as shopfront layouts, signage applications and change of use submissions

  • Learning how to design in line with building regulations, including fire safety, electrical, mechanical and accessibility requirements 

  • Preparing pre construction drawings and information packs for contractors

  • Developing detailed fit out drawings, including layout plans and ceiling designs

  • Visiting sites to assess existing electrical and mechanical installations

  • Supporting refurbishment and new venue projects from start to finish

  • Working closely with experienced designers, contractors and internal teams

  • You’ll gain hands on experience using professional CAD software, build a strong understanding of how construction projects work in the real world, and develop skills that can set you up for a long term career in design and engineering


We’re looking for a motivated and curious individual. You’ll have a strong interest in CAD, technology, along with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
