Brief Description
To work as part of the nursery team to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children aged 0–5 years, while undertaking training towards a recognised childcare qualification.
Training to be Provided
- 1 day a week at college - term time

Learning & Development:
- Undertake and complete a recognised childcare qualification within agreed timescales
- Attend all required training sessions, coursework and assessments
- Develop knowledge of child development and early years practice
Childcare & Practice
- Support the care, learning and development of children in line with the EYFS
- Help plan and provide engaging, stimulating play experiences
- Build warm, positive relationships with children and their families
- Promote inclusion and support children with additional needs
Safeguarding & Welfare
- Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
- Maintain a safe, secure and hygienic environment
- Be aware of and respond appropriately to emergencies
Health & Safety
- Follow all health and safety procedures and risk assessments
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, staff and visitors
- Carry out appropriate housekeeping duties
Teamwork & Professionalism:
- Work effectively as part of the nursery team
- Communicate clearly with colleagues, parents and carers
- Attend staff meetings and contribute positively
- Act as a positive role model at all times
Administration:
- Support the completion of:
- Observations and development records
- Accident and incident records
- Risk assessments
General:
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the nursery
- Promote the nursery’s ethos and positive reputation
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management
