Brief Description

An opportunity to join J&E Hall as an apprentice engineer has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated individual. The Apprentice will become both technically competent, as well as learning effective communication with customers, deliver appropriate service, and eventually being able to recognise and exploit potential sales opportunities.

Training to be Provided

The Level 3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump (RACHP) Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard is run over 36 months. Apprentices must also achieve a Level 2 certificate in F Gas and ODS regulation category 1 to complete the course.

Vacancy Detail


  • To be responsible to the Service Manager but work at all times under the supervision of qualified persons and departments nominated by them.

  • Whilst being supervised, to assist trained qualified Service Engineers in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration, air conditioning and process plant within a pre-set timescale, with particular emphasis being placed on our approach toward Health and Safety.

  • To attend college as required, to achieve City & Guilds qualifications at both mechanical and technical level (a Level 3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump (RACHP) qualification) completing training schedules and workbooks as appropriate.

  • To liaise with office administration teams and engineers to ensure work is being carried out to their satisfaction.

  • To correctly complete work reports/time sheets on time to enable invoices to be submitted with minimum delay and to maintain regular contact with the service centre.

  • To comply with requirements of Health and Safety Practices as outlined in the Company Health and Safety procedure.

  • Any ad-hoc duties asked by the Service Manager.
