Vacancy Detail

Each Level 3 Early Years Apprentice will be working with one teacher and as part of the reception team, supporting the class teacher and teaching assistant in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment where our youngest children can develop a real love of learning.

They will assist with both indoor and outdoor activities that encourage exploration, curiosity, and independence. Indoors, the apprentice may support children during phonics sessions, shared reading, early writing tasks, and practical maths activities such as counting, sorting, and recognising numbers and shapes. Outdoors, they will help to organise play-based learning experiences that develop physical skills, problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity, such as building, role play, and investigating the natural environment.

The apprentice  will be expected to observe children’s learning and help adapt activities to meet individual needs, encouraging participation and confidence.

They will play an important role in modelling excellent language, speaking clearly and positively, extending children’s vocabulary through conversation, storytelling, and questioning. By interacting sensitively and enthusiastically with the children, the apprentice will build strong relationships and support social and emotional development.

Overall, their role is to contribute to a nurturing classroom where children feel valued and motivated to learn through play, discovery, and guided activities.
