Brief Description
This role supports the reliability and performance of manufacturing equipment through planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, and improvement activity. The role involves applying engineering knowledge to maintain machinery, respond to breakdowns, and work closely with production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
Training to be Provided
You will be required to attend Advance 1 Campus, Dudley College, DY1 4AD, 1 day per week in term time only.
- Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, you will receive a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician (mechanical) HNC Apprenticeship qualification.
- You will be assigned an assessor who will visit you in the workplace every 6–8 weeks to support you on your apprenticeship.
Future Prospects
Progression to Qualified Maintenance Engineer.
Vacancy Detail
- Carry out routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery to support operational reliability.
- Perform basic repairs and component replacements under supervision, following approved procedures.
- Support the diagnosis and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime and restore operations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
- Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Work alongside production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment when required.
- Maintain clean, safe, and well-organised work areas in line with health and safety requirements.
Other Information
Must be able to commute to Stourport, and Dudley College for day release.
