Working Week: Total of 40-hours a week falling between 7.30am and 6.00pm, Monday - Friday. May involve some occasional weekend work. 16-18-year-olds will not be required to work over 8 hours per day.
Brief Description
Little People Alwoodley is looking for an individual who is keen to start in the childcare sector. Are you interested in looking after children and wish to gain a professional qualification and valuable experience in a friendly environment, ensuring high standards in all aspects of care and development in line with the EYFS?
Training to be Provided
Apprenticeship qualifications are delivered in the workplace. You will be allocated a vocational coach who will provide you with personal tutorial support and assessment through a blend of online Teams meetings and face-to-face visits to complete observations in the workplace.
Assessment is through a variety of methods, including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence, professional discussions, assignments and project/case studies. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio of evidence. You will have access to all your resources and tasks online on The Learning Hub.
You will achieve:
- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
- Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
Future Prospects
Once the successful candidate has completed their childcare qualification at level 2, there will be the opportunity to progress onto the Early Years Educator at Level 3.
Vacancy Detail
As an apprentice you will be a key member of the nursery team, your duties may include:
- Under supervision, keep records of children’s development and learning journeys
- Liaise professionally with and support parents and other family members
- Be able to work well in a team
- Attend out-of-working-hours activities, e.g., training, monthly staff meetings, parents' evenings, fundraising events, etc.
- To ensure high standards in all aspects of care and development in line with the EYFS for all children attending the nursery
- To organise resources for activities and experiences in the nursery
- To assist in enhancing the developmental progress in children
- To implement the daily routine within the nursery
- To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and good housekeeping
- To maintain a thorough knowledge of all the nursery’s policies and procedures, ensuring that they are followed and respected
