Brief Description

  • We are looking for a motivated and reliable Building & Maintenance Apprentice to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to begin a career in the construction and maintenance industry.  You will work alongside experienced tradespeople, learning a wide range skills.  

Training to be Provided


  • Apprentice will attend St Helens College (Stem Centre) for a minimum 6 hours per week during term time

  • Work towards Maths and English functional skills if required

  • Successful completion may lead to permanent employment

Key Responsibilities - 


As a Building & Maintenance Apprentice, your duties will include:



  • Assisting with day-to-day building and property maintenance tasks

  • Learning and supporting basic trade skills including: Carpentry and joinery, Plumbing repairs, Plastering and patch repairs, Painting and decorating

  • Carrying out minor repairs and refurbishment works

  • Supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities

  • Safely using tools, equipment, and materials under supervision

  • Ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe

  • Following health & safety procedures at all times

  • Attending college or training sessions as required
    completing all coursework, assessments, and apprenticeship requirements

  • Providing good customer service when working in occupied properties


 

Other Information


  • A full or provisional UK driving licence

  • Interest in pursuing a long-term career in the construction or maintenance sector

  • An interest in Museums and Art Galleries, and a desire to help create opportunities for visitors and the local community to engage with The World of Glass.
