Brief Description
Join our friendly Early Years team to support children's learning, development and care. You will work alongside experienced practitioners – gaining hands-on experience whilst completing your Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years apprenticeship.
Training to be Provided
Learners will be required to attend a mandatory college-based day at Peterborough College, that takes place 1 day every 3 weeks for approx 6hrs duration.
Future Prospects
Successful apprentices may progress into a permanent Early Years Practitioner role at Little Leverets Childcare. Further opportunities include completing the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (if starting at Level 2), room leader responsibilities, or continued professional development within the early years sector.
Vacancy Detail
The apprenticeship role sits within our Early Years team, working across all rooms depending on the needs of the setting. Apprentices will support qualified practitioners in delivering high‑quality care, learning opportunities and routines for children aged 0–5 years.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting children’s play, learning and development in line with the EYFS
- Assisting with daily routines including meals, toileting, nappy changing and sleep times
- Helping to set up and maintain safe, stimulating learning environments
- Observing children and contributing to planning activities
- Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Following safeguarding, health and safety and setting policies at all times
Your day‑to‑day contact will be Ryan Barratt, assistant manager and the senior practitioners within your allocated room.
Other Information
You will be required to undergo an enhanced disclosure to a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
Apprenticeship vacancies may be advertised through various marketing and recruitment activities and therefore can be closed early.
Please answer all of the supplementary questions and do not use AI as applications where this is obvious, will automatically be rejected for short-listing.
Applicants must be able to travel to the setting for the duration of the apprenticeship course.
Every applicant will be required to attend an onboarding assessment - determination will be made when they attend as to the suitability for either a Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeship (depending on whether you have met the entry requirements for it).
