Brief Description
Start your career within People function with ODS working as part of Learning & Development team. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting learning and engagement activities while working towards a Level 3 qualification and building skills for a long-term career.
Training to be Provided
Duration:
- 15-month practical training period, plus 3-months for End Point Assessment
Delivery model:
- Work-based training with your employer
- 10 days Business Professionals training at college
- Approximately 12 on-site assessment visits per year
- Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (7 days at college for each, if required)
- Off-the-job training will account for at least 6 hours per week of an apprentice’s time at work
Qualifications included:
- Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard
End Point Assessment:
- Knowledge test
- Portfolio-based interview
- Project/improvement presentation
Future Prospects
- On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will achieve a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration and may have opportunities to progress within HR, People Services or wider ODS roles
Vacancy Detail
- Provide high-quality administrative and customer service support within L&D
- Support employees and managers with first-line L&D queries by phone and email
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records on Learning Management systems
- Assist with preparing reports, information packs and meeting notes
- Support learning and development activities and maintain training records
- Help coordinate work experience placements, inductions and schedules
- Support internal communications, engagement activities and events
Other Information
- Office-based role with regular computer use
- Work involves handling confidential and sensitive information
- Requires good organisation and communication skills

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £8.00 per hour from April 2025. This applies to 16 - 18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over during the first year of their apprenticeship. After this, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in colllege.
