Brief Description

As an Electrical Apprentice at DB ESG, you will work closely with experienced engineers and project teams to support the installation, commissioning, and servicing of modifications to rolling stock vehicles. You will develop hands-on technical skills, gain industry knowledge, and be part of real-world rail consultancy projects.

Training to be Provided

As an apprentice, you will complete a structured programme combining:



  • On-the-job training within the DB ESG projects team

  • Classroom-based learning through an approved training provider, Sheffield Hallam

  • Support from mentors and experienced engineers at DB ESG


The apprenticeship is designed to give you the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for a practical engineering role, all in preparation for future progression into a senior technical or professional engineering role, gaining CEng status.

DB ESG will provide you with a mentor and buddy to support your learning and development.


You will have regular one-to-ones with your line manager and will
work towards achieving competencies. 
The competency matrix details a clear route to progression from Engineer to Senior to Principal.
