Brief Description
Launch your engineering career with a 4-year apprenticeship in Consett! Work full-time alongside skilled engineers while earning a Level 3 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Learn hands-on skills including milling, turning, boring, CNC machining, fitting and reading engineering drawings, with one day a week at college for the first 2 years.
Training to be Provided
- 1 day per week at college, 4 days in the workplace
Future Prospects
- There are opportunities for progression within the role for the right candidates upon successful completion of the apprenticeship
- We also offer support with further engineering qualifications such as HNC
Vacancy Detail
You will learn all aspects of mechanical engineering, including, milling, turning, boring, CNC machining and fitting, as well as how to read engineering drawings.
Daily duties will include:
- Developing a knowledge of all aspects of mechanical engineering
- Developing an understanding of machine practices
- Undertaking milling, turning, boring and grinding tasks as appropriate
- Utilising machining practices across both CNC and manual machines
- Learning to read and work from Engineering drawings
