Training to be Provided

This apprenticeship is a perfect match for someone withoutany accountancy or bookkeeping knowledge. On this programme they will learn thebuilding blocks of the modern accountant. Not only will they grasp thefundamentals of bookkeeping, but we will help them develop those vital skillsand behaviours to enable them to put their knowledge into action.


If you’re new to accountancy and finance, looking to changeyour career into accountancy or have previously worked in an accountsdepartment this level is ideal for you. You don’t need any prior experienceworking in accounts to study AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. There areno entry requirements, but you do need good maths, IT and English skills, and awillingness to learn.


You’ll learn a broad range of core accounting skills,including double-entry bookkeeping and basic costing as well as accountancyrelated business skills and personal skills.


You must successfully complete the following:



  • Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK)

  • Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC)

  • Principles of Costing (PCTN)

  • Business Environment (BESY)

Vacancy Detail


  • The successful candidate will support the Finance Team with a range of accounting and administrative duties while working towards a professional qualification.

  • Responsibilities include processing supplier invoices, matching invoices to purchase orders, investigating and resolving discrepancies, liaising with suppliers and colleagues, and assisting with supplier account reconciliations.

  • The role will also involve processing weekly timesheets, reviewing and investigating discrepancies, maintaining accurate records, and supporting payroll preparation.

  • Additional duties include assisting with finance administration, maintaining financial records, supporting month-end activities, preparing reports and spreadsheets, and providing documentation for audits.

  • The successful candidate will provide general administrative support, including filing, document management, and responding to enquiries, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies and procedures. They will build positive working relationships with colleagues and suppliers, participate fully in apprenticeship training and development activities, and undertake any other duties reasonably required by management.
