Brief Description

This is a diverse and rewarding role where no two days are the same, combining administration,training coordination, data management, supplier liaison, and support for site teams. Ideal for an enthusiastic and reliable individual who enjoys being part of a busy business, with opportunities to get involved in marketing and finance activities.

Training to be Provided

In addition to administrative training via Cambridge Regional College, the apprentice will have opportunities to develop skills in customer service, marketing, finance administration (Sage), health and safety, procurement, project coordination, and business systems.


This broader exposure will provide valuable insight into how a successful construction business operates and support future career progression across a variety of business functions. There will also be on the job training specifically for construction industry administration procedures and compliance requirements.

As an Office Administrator Apprentice, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy construction company. Working in our friendly office in Harston, near Cambridge, no two days will be the same. You will gain experience across a variety of administrative functions while developing valuable workplace skills.


Typical duties may include:



  • Answering telephone and email enquiries from customers, suppliers and employees.

  • Maintaining and updating company records and databases.

  • Inputting data accurately and preparing documents as required.

  • Coordinating and organising employee training and certifications.

  • Assisting site-based staff with administrative requests and queries.

  • Ordering materials, equipment and supplies from suppliers.

  • Supporting the smooth running of the office and general business operations.

  • Assisting with marketing activities, such as updating company information and promotional materials.

  • Providing basic administrative support for finance functions, including record keeping and documentation.


This is a varied and hands-on role that offers the opportunity to learn how a successful construction business operates while working as part of a small, supportive and highly effective team. The successful apprentice will develop strong organisational, communication and administration skills in a professional office environment.
