Brief Description

An excellent opportunity for an individual looking to start a career in accountancy within a professional accountancy practice. The successful candidate will gain practical experience whilst studying towards the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship (AAT).

Training to be Provided

As part of this role, you will undertake and complete an Assistant Accountant Level 3 qualification with AAT.


At the end of this apprenticeship, you have an AAT Level 2 Booking Foundation Certificate and a Level 3 Diploma in Accounting which are nationally recognised qualifications.


You will have the opportunity to learn in your role and will be provided with time to study. This is a blended learning approach with time given to attend in person training at the Aylesbury Buckinghamshire Adult Learning site.

Future Prospects

This role offers a structured path into the accountancy profession with opportunities to progress to higher-level AAT qualifications and eventually ACA or ACCA training.

Vacancy Detail


  • Assist with bookkeeping for a range of business clients.

  • Process sales invoices, purchase invoices and bank transactions.

  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.

  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns.

  • Support the preparation of year-end accounts and management accounts.

  • Liaise with clients to obtain accounting records and information.

  • Maintain client files and update practice management systems.

  • Undertake general administrative duties to support the Accounts Team.

  • Attend apprenticeship training and complete all required coursework.

Other Information

Desirable requirements:


A Levels, BTEC or equivalent qualifications.


Experience using Microsoft Excel.


Interest in accountancy, finance or business.
