Brief Description
An excellent opportunity to join an international accounting and advisory firm as an Audit Trainee. You will receive training and mentoring from ACA and ACCA qualified professionals whilst studying towards the Level 3 AAT qualification, followed by the ACA or ACCA professional qualification.
Training to be Provided
Example: Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will be required to complete:
- Work towards gaining a full Qualification
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
- Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours
- Standard and End Point Assessment
- Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (if required)
Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job role.

Vacancy Detail
Throughout your training, you will develop an understanding of:
- How statutory audits are planned, performed and completed
- Key audit concepts, including risk assessment, materiality and audit assertions
- The ICAEW/ACCA Code of Ethics and professional standards
- The use of audit software, including preparing and documenting audit working papers using Caseware
- Audit methodologies and testing techniques across a variety of financial statement areas
- Progressively more complex audit assignments as your knowledge and experience develop
- Support with studies
- You will be mentored by a ACA or ACCA qualified individual
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- A mixed role with focus on corporate client audits
- Basic accounts preparation / review work
- Obtain and analyse client information and supporting documentation
- Perform substantive and transactional audit testing and compliance procedures across areas including revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, payroll, trade receivables, trade payables and cash
- Assist senior team members with planning, fieldwork and completion of audit assignments
- Develop the ability to complete allocated audit sections independently following appropriate instruction and review
- Prepare clear and concise documentation of audit procedures performed and conclusions reached
- Attend client premises to undertake audit fieldwork and participate in physical inventory counts where required
- Assist with other assurance engagements, including limited assurance reviews and other non-statutory assignments
- Communicate professionally with clients and build effective working relationships throughout audit engagements
- Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines
Duties may also include:
- Ad hoc assistance with internal administrative matters of the firm
- Other ad hoc assistance reasonably required in conjunction with the above matters generally
- Assistance in other departments like accounts and tax when audit season is not so busy
