Brief Description
The Junior Consultant (JC) Apprentice role offers excellent opportunity to start a career within the renewables sector in OWC. In this role, the
Apprentice will work within a supervised team on technical consultancy assignments for a range of renewable energy projects across all project phases, from inception to operation.
Qualifications Required
- You have to be 18 years old and over and must have lived in the UK / EEA for the last 3 years
- You can’t already have a degree which is too similar (e.g. Computer Science Degree)
- Must have GCSE Maths and English (Grades A-D or 9-4) (or equivalent)
- Must have 3 A Levels or BTEC Level 3 or a Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent)
Personal Qualities
● Proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
● Be willing to relocate if required.

Training to be Provided
Our Level 6 standard is integrated with a degree in Digital & Technology solutions which is validated by the Open University. Each cohort spends their first 5 weeks at college taking part in our Launchpad training.
This training not only covers modules for the degree programme but also ensures to prepare you for the workplace. Following the Launchpad training you will return to your employer for 7-8 weeks returning to Ada for one-week blocks on a rotation basis.

OWC assists our clients in the development and realisation of their renewable projects. The Junior Consultant (JC)
Apprentice role offers excellent opportunity to start a career within the renewables sector in OWC. In this role, the
Apprentice will work within a supervised team on technical consultancy assignments for a range of renewable
energy projects across all project phases, from inception to operation. The work will include providing analyses and
advice relating to, but not limited to, owner’s engineering, independent engineering and analysis of renewables
projects.
The Apprentice will receive training, mentoring and ‘on the job’ learning across a broad range of projects to develop
in these assignments, working with colleagues and experts from different disciplines across the industry, and will
be part of a team effort to achieve our ambitious business growth objectives. The Apprentice is encouraged to
develop her/his skills and establish their own specialisms within the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
● Work on a variety of projects, including those in development and construction
● Work across owner’s engineering, independent engineering, analysis or other engineering services
● Prepare and assist with technical/engineering inputs on projects
● Prepare and assist with documentation requests and reviews
● Assist project managers in the delivery of projects and proactively offer support where possible
● Prepare and assist with review, analysis and interpretation of technical data
● Contribute to consultancy report writing and technical notes.
● Undertake analytical work and support in the creation and maintaining of tools and databases
● Attend regular internal and external meetings as required and recording minutes
● Ensure all deliverables are conducted in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures and
policies
And other duties as assigned.
● Always comply with the company QHSE policies, manuals, procedures, work systems and regulations at
ABL premises, projects and client sites
● Assist in construction monitoring and commissioning activities. Full time site work may be required from
time to time as agreed with the manager
● Undertake chargeable work with the remainder supporting non-chargeable tasks such as proposals,
internal projects and technical tool development.

As part of this apprenticeship, you will study and work towards the completion of a Digital & Technology
Solutions Professional (DTSP) Level 6 Degree. This is made up of technical training, workplace projects,
off the job learning and an end point assessment.
The role will require you to work hours per week, Monday to Friday, with 1 week in every 8 spent training with Ada.
