Brief Description
This Level 6 Quantity Surveying apprenticeship offers a salary while working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying. The programme combines academic study with practical, hands-on experience across live projects, allowing the apprentice to develop strong commercial, financial and contractual knowledge alongside real-world application.
Training to be Provided
- Training - Quantity Surveyor - Level 6
- Delivered via day release at college
- Ongoing on-the-job training and mentoring
Future Prospects
On successful completion of the Level 4 Mechanical Project Engineer apprenticeship, the apprentice is expected to progress into a Project Engineer role within Price Building Services.
With continued experience and development, progression opportunities may include:
- Taking on increased responsibility across project coordination and delivery
- Progression into Senior Project Engineer roles
- Development into Project Management or Engineering Management positions
- Further professional training and qualifications in building services or project management
- The apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for a long-term career within building services engineering and project delivery
Vacancy Detail
The apprentice Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial function across multiple projects and will gradually increase responsibility as competence and confidence develop.
Typical duties will include:
- Assisting with cost planning, budgeting and financial forecasting for projects
- Supporting the preparation of tender and procurement documentation
- Assisting with subcontractor enquiries, comparisons and appointment processes
- Supporting interim valuations, payment applications and cost reporting
- Assisting with the management of variations, change control and final accounts
- Working closely with project managers, engineers and site teams to monitor progress and cost performance
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and handling commercially sensitive information professionally and confidentially
Other Information
This role involves working on live construction sites across London, including high-profile commercial projects. Applicants must be comfortable working in a site environment and following strict health and safety procedures.
Other requirements include:
- Ability to work safely on construction sites, including working at height where required
- Willingness to comply with all site rules, inductions and PPE requirements
- Understanding that some projects may require security clearance or background checks
- A professional and responsible approach when working on high-profile projects
- Ability to travel to different sites across London
