Training to be Provided
- Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Level 3 apprenticeship standard- will attend a combination of weekly and fortnightly day release at our Team Valley training centre

- The successful applicant would have excellent long-term prospects, with the opportunity to progress into senior/management roles (for the right candidate)
- As the apprentice develops in the role, they will be given more responsibility and increased independent working
Vacancy Detail
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Fire and Security Systems Apprentice at Protect & Connect Ltd, based in Gateshead. Due to continued growth within the business, Protect and Connect are seeking an ambitious and hard working individual to join their team.
The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of duties and work towards a three year apprenticeship in Fire, Emergency & Security Systems.
The main purpose of the role will be to assist the company engineers in installing, maintaining and repairing a variety of fire and security systems.
Main duties to include:
- Installing fire detection and alarm systems, including cabling, and mounting of components
- Testing and commissioning new systems, ensuring they function correctly and meet the required standards
- Assisting in the preventative and corrective maintenance of fire alarm systems, including diagnosing and repairing faults
- Drilling holes, using a cordless drill and a range of hand tools
- Adhering to safety regulations, codes of practice, and risk assessments
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and maintain records of work completed
- Clean and tidy appearance in unform provided

- Due to the nature of the work, some flexibility with working hours may be required from time to time
Driving licence is preferred for this role, or the applicant should be willing to work towards achieving their driving licence. Employer is willing to contribute payment towards candidate’s driving lessons, if required.
