  • Working Week: The nursery is open from 7:30am until 6:00pm Monday to Friday, the apprentice will be required to work shifts within these hours, set by the nursery each week.

Brief Description

Looking to start your career in childcare? Jigsaw Day Nursery are looking to recruit an Early Years Practitioner Apprentice to join their early years setting. The apprentice will work and interact directly with children on a day-to-day basis, supporting their learning and development. 

Training to be Provided


  • The apprentice will work towards an Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship (Level 2), including Functional skills maths and English (if required)

  • Weekly attendance at Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber Training for 'off-the-job' training is included (CV1 4FD)

Future Prospects


  • As an apprentice, you will be encouraged to embrace training opportunities within the nursery and childcare sector as a whole

  • Possible progression routes after Level 2 could be an Advanced Apprenticeship for the Early Years Educator (Level 3)

Based in a friendly early years setting, the role will involve assisting in the planning and delivery of fun and educational activities for children, whilst taking care of the children’s developmental and personal needs. 


As an apprentice, you will be a key member of the nursery team. Your duties may include:



  • Planning and delivering fun and educational activities with the children

  • Play alongside and with children to support their play

  • Contribute to children’s records through observation

  • Assist with the supervision of children at rest times and at mealtimes

  • Contribute to creating a safe, happy environment for the children

  • Ensure the play area is clean and tidy at all times
