Brief Description
As a Health and Social Care Apprentice, you’ll be helping older people stay active, connected and smiling. You’ll support our friendship groups, head out on the minibus to pick people up and make sure their day starts with a warm welcome, and help plan and host fun parties and social events that bring everyone together.
Training to be Provided
- Adult Care Worker Level 2
- All training will be delivered within the workplace

Vacancy Detail
- Support and help run friendship groups, wellbeing sessions, and community activities.
- Assist with planning, setting up, and hosting parties, themed events, and social gatherings.
- Travel on the minibus to help with pick-ups and drop-offs, ensuring attendees feel safe and welcome.
- Provide person-centred support and encourage participation, independence, and inclusion.
- Offer one-to-one support, including helping older people use their mobile phones and access digital services.
- Support the team with care plans by helping to gather information, update records, and monitor individual needs.
- Support us with social media content through platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram (following consent and organisational guidelines).
- Work alongside staff and volunteers to ensure activities run safely and smoothly.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and record-keeping procedures.
- Promote dignity, respect and independence at all times.
Other Information
The role involves travelling around the local community, including supporting on the minibus, so a flexible approach to working hours is important.
You will be working closely with older people, so patience, empathy, and a positive, bubbly attitude are essential. Some tasks may involve physical activity, such as setting up events or assisting attendees.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided, covering safeguarding, health and safety, and care plan procedures. The role also offers creative opportunities, including helping with social media and event planning, so being proactive and enthusiastic is highly valued.
