Brief Description

We are seeking an Apprentice IT Technician to join a small IT team. You would be trained to carry work on Audio Visual equipment, including classroom projection and audio, meeting rooms and our mixed use theatre/chapel. You would learn how to undertake First Line IT Support tasks. This is a varied role with scope for professional development.

Training to be Provided


  • The apprentice will work towards the Level 3 Information Communications Technician Standard

  • This will be a mix of training in the work place, 1-1 training and review meetings and in person group training

Vacancy Detail

First Line IT Support:



  • Serving as the first point of contact for pupils and staff within the school

  • Repairing, installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware

  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting IT issues

  • IT maintenance of hardware on site

  • Reprographics support

  • Manage IT helpdesk

  • Monitor key systems, including network and cyber security

  • Escalate issues to Senior IT Systems Administrator or Director of Digital Learning as appropriate


Audio Visual Support:



  • Prepare for assemblies, lectures, theatre productions and other events in our main chapel hall

  • Use mobile screen to prepare for meetings in different rooms

  • Ensure classroom Audio Visual equipment (projectors, speakers, wireless projection) is maintained and functioning properly

  • And to undertake other reasonable duties from time to time as the School may reasonably require

Other Information

This is a full time role working all year round. During term time when the school is in session, the working hours would be Monday to Friday 7.45am to 4pm and Saturday 7.45am to 10am. If there are events taking place beyond working hours, AV Support would be required but time off in lieu would be offered. One day a week you would be able to finish at noon. During school holidays, the working hours would be 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday. An enhanced DBS check would need to be undertaken prior to starting the role.
