Brief Description
An exciting opportunity to join the friendly Conkers Team. You’ll support practitioners with planning activities, supervising play, helping with snacks and care, recording progress on family, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment while working toward an early years qualification.
Training to be Provided
- Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner.
- Functional Skills in English and maths (If required).
- End Point Assessment – Knowledge Test and Professional

Future Prospects

Vacancy Detail
The early years apprentice will support the delivery of high-quality childcare and early education within the nursery. Working alongside experienced practitioners, the apprentice will help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children can learn, play and develop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Support children’s learning and development through play-based activities.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting and nap times.
- Observe children and contribute to records of their progress and development.
- Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery Policies at all times.
Skills and Qualities:
- Genuine interest in working with young children.
- Caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Basic organisational skills and reliability.
Training and Development
- Work towards a Level 2.
- Ongoing support and mentoring from experienced staff and management.
- Opportunities to develop practical childcare skills and knowledge.
